I guess the "hidden symbols" you are talking about are just
non-breaking spaces (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-breaking_space).
If so, this is by no means critical or a security problem.

And as you said yourself, other applications are affected as well.
IMO this is not Geany's fault nor is it Geany's job to filter these out
or anything. Rather bug your browser for not stripping non-breaking
spaces when copying text.

Anyway, one could write a plugin for Geany to automatically replace
non-breaking spaces into normal spaces when pasting text.


Still, not a bug in Geany.
