After discussing with the submitter, it turns out that I was able to reproduce the bug on version 2.2.9-10. The problem is only present when editing an invoice, but not when adding transaction in some account from the ledger. The problem is no longer present in version 1:2.4.7-3, it must have been fixed in some upstream release (I have not been able to find an upstream bug report for this bug, so I cannot tell in which version it was fixed).
