Debian Squeeze command gnome-screensaver --poke proposed by Joshem Kossem return that --poke is unknown parameter. I still experience same issue with VLC playing videos on full or part screen. Screensaver is automatically called up.
Same video in Totem movie player works fine without screensaver being called. *Dmitry*
