D [03/Oct/2011:23:18:17 +0100] Calling DeleteDevice(cups-HL1250) D [03/Oct/2011:23:18:18 +0100] failed to DeleteDevice: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs:Type of message, `(s)', does not match expected type `(o)'
I notice several of these DBus errors in the log. Are they significant? I have been experimenting with the cups installation to no avail. I tried clearing /var/cache/cups/ which may not have been wise. I also removed /etc/cups/printer.conf expecting cupsd to rewrite it when I used /etc/init.d/cups restart, but that did not happen. The system is still reporting that the printers are paused because (for the default printer) Backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/parallel does not exist. I did discover that the kernel that I was using when I reported was not configured for the ppdev module, but I have now have the module installed, and there is no improvement. Except that now "parallel" provides more information: # /usr/lib/cups/backend/parallel direct parallel:/dev/lp0 "Brother HL-1250 series" "Brother HL-1250 series LPT #1" "MFG:Brother;CMD:PJL,PCL,PCLXL;MDL:HL-1250 series;CLS:PRINTER;" "" ael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
