Don't want to nag, but just noticed I forgot it in my initial mail:

It would really be nice if you could do it soon so I could upload the
ABI-compatible 3.0.1 to sid soon to have space for 3.1.1 in experimental
(which then would need the mentioned configure etc. changes) to get tested
there.

If I upload 3.1.1 now we'd loose the opportunity to have a cleaned up 
libtextcat0
in sid before we do the "real" transition...
