Package: munin Version: 1.4.6-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I upgraded the munin package from version 1.4.5-3 to 1.4.6-1 Since then, I noticed that the passive checks in Nagios were not being updated properly. Further investigation led me to the following errors in the /var/log/munin/munin-limits.log file: [PERL WARNING] print() on closed filehandle $pipe at /usr/share/perl5/Munin/Master/LimitsOld.pm line 708. After googling I came to the following bug report: http://munin-monitoring.org/ticket/732 The final post of which lead to the following fix: http://munin-monitoring.org/changeset/4400 I applied these changes to my Munin installation and the passive checks for Nagios started to work again. Also note that the above fixes made the cron job noisy since stdout from the send_nsca program was no longer being thrown away. To fix this I had to change my config from: contact.nagios.command /usr/sbin/send_nsca -H nagios.ddihealth.com -c /etc/send_nsca.cfg -to 60 To: contact.nagios.command /usr/sbin/send_nsca -H nagios.ddihealth.com -c /etc/send_nsca.cfg -to 60 >/dev/null Regards, -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages munin depends on: ii adduser 3.113 ii cron 3.0pl1-120 ii libdigest-md5-perl <none> ii libhtml-template-perl 2.10-1 ii liblog-log4perl-perl 1.29-1 ii librrds-perl 1.4.3-3.1+b2 ii libstorable-perl <none> ii munin-common 1.4.6-1 ii perl [libtime-hires-perl] 5.12.4-4 ii perl-modules 5.12.4-4 ii rrdtool 1.4.3-3.1+b2 ii ttf-dejavu 2.33-2 Versions of packages munin recommends: ii libdate-manip-perl 6.25-1 ii munin-node 1.4.6-1 Versions of packages munin suggests: ii apache2-mpm-worker [httpd] 2.2.21-1 ii libnet-ssleay-perl 1.36-3 ii lynx-cur [www-browser] 2.8.8dev.9-2 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
