Package: matlab-support
Version: 0.0.16
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

It would be very useful to have a desktop launcher for MATLAB, following
the FreeDesktop specification. [1]

It could reside in the `/usr/share/applications/MATLAB.desktop' file,
with a content like:

----------------->8-------------------

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Type=Application
Terminal=false
Exec=matlab -desktop
Name=MATLAB
Icon=MATLAB
Categories=Development;Math;Science
Comment=Scientific computing environment

----------------->8-------------------

(the `-desktop' option of matlab is mandatory for this usage)

The icon could go into
`/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/MATLAB.png'. Its content could be
based on the Wikipedia icon for MATLAB, which is in the public
domain. [2]

Thanks,
