        As of 1.6.5.2-1, I no longer observe this bug.

        Consider, e. g.:

$ HOME=$(mktemp -dt) strace enscript -o /dev/null < /dev/null 2>&1 \
      | grep -F -- tmp. 
open("/tmp/tmp.jpoqawmSoF/.enscriptrc", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or 
directory)
$
