Can you still reproduce it? If so, the next useful step would be to try a 3.x kernel from sid or experimental. (The only packages aside from linux-image-<version> from outside squeeze that should be needed in order to do so are linux-base and initramfs-tools.) Then: - if it is broken, please report this upstream to http://bugs.freedesktop.org/ following instructions from [1], and let us know the bug number so we can track it - if it is fixed (and if still broken in the latest squeeze kernel), please try a version halfway between from [2] to narrow down the range of versions where we should search for a fix.
