I have tried to specify for mplayer2 audio output drivers 'alsa' and now I got the desired effect. So, I suppose ALSA works pretty well but mplayer2 ceased for some reason to use it but chooses 'oss' output for some reason - I will go and find why or rather specify all my scripts/mplayer2_config to use alsa as output - hope the problem will be gone permanently, then.
