The doc-debian package (which includes the Debian GNU/Linux FAQ) has no good instructions on how to make backups. However, the "Debian Reference" in the debian-reference package, _has_ some notes on making backups: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/reference/ch-tips.en.html#s-diff-backup . I believe instructions about making backups is more appropriate for the Debian Reference than for the FAQ: I can't even find an appropriate place in the FAQ to add a note about making backups. Anyway, you might like to close this bug: the information in the Debian Reference might be complete enough. Thanks, Bye, Joost
