Yes, I agree. I also think this would be rather simple to code up: lintian.tags is yaml so one can easily parse in python by using pyyaml's yaml.load function. Because it is simple, I think it's a good fit for the gift scheme. Hence the usertag. When fixing this, it would be nice to provide views within UDD for packages with both fatal and nonfatal tags. Feel free to contact me with any questions if you start to work on this.
