This is surely related, so I'm posting here.

I recently moved from Squeeze to Wheezy and found that closing Eclipse
would leave its Java process sleeping in memory.

Looking for a solution I've found this, which seems to be quite an old
bug related to AT-SPI:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/at-spi/+bug/68714
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405368

I've seen at least once Ernesto's screenshot, and I'm pretty sure it was
when I didn't kill the sleeping process.

I tried removing at-spi and the problem was solved indeed.

Note that another Java program (JOSM) had no problems. I hope I reported at
the right place.

Andrea
