Okay, then we have a misunderstanding: 'virt-top -2' displays the NICs instead of the domains; sure, that's fine, and is what is in the man page. In the output I pasted, 'virt-top -2' displays the *one* NIC for host "noodle" *three* times, that is not fine, and is not described in the man page, and is surely a bug, right?
