It failed on one of the books that I tried, and also on some of the samples
provided by the Daisy Consortium.

I contacted the upstream author, who indicated that he planned to revise it to
use a real XML parser (currently it uses its own, very primitive and
failure-prone, code for parsing XML). I took one look at this and... wasn't at
all surprised that it didn't work.

If the rewrite is done, it should be much more robust, however.
