To be honest, I don't know what's happen, sorry.
I would recommend you to write a mail to Broadcom's support[1] and explain all 
the details of your problem, please CC #638558.

I remember that, a few months ago, I had to type "ifconfig wlan0 up" in order 
to make the card working, did you tried that ?

PS: Changing severity from serious to important because package is working in 
most case.
