Hi Joost, thanks for the hint, but I'm already aware of the situation. The problem is that the current 5.0 package had some problems (this was discussed on the avrdude-devel mailing list) so it was not yet officially announced on the project homepage. I'm in contact with upstream and as soon as he gives his ok I will upload an updated package.
