I was switching back and forth between git versions and I probably forgot to re-upgrade git-core. It seems that git 1.7.9 provides git-core but does not force git-core to be upgraded. Anyway, upgrading to git-core 1.7.9 don't change the problem. > What does git --version say? git version 1.7.9 > What does git annex --debug say? $ git annex --debug add file git ["--git-dir=/tmp/annex/.git","--work-tree=/tmp/annex","ls-files","--others","--exclude-standard","-z","--","file"] git ["--version"] git ["--git-dir=/tmp/annex/.git","--work-tree=/tmp/annex","check-attr","annex.backend","-z","--stdin"] git ["--git-dir=/tmp/annex/.git","--work-tree=/tmp/annex","diff","--name-only","--diff-filter=T","-z","--","file"] git ["--version"] git ["--git-dir=/tmp/annex/.git","--work-tree=/tmp/annex","check-attr","annex.backend","-z","--stdin"] git-annex: ../../../../file: getSymbolicLinkStatus: does not exist (No such file or directory) failed git-annex: add: 1 failed -- Denis -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
