I reverted to an image I made several days before this problem appeared. I
upgraded everything but alsa-utils and the problem was not there. I then
upgraded alsa-utils and still no problem. So something must have gone wrong
with the original upgrade process to keep pulseaudio from seeing the bluetooth
device.
