fyi, this bug is against pidgin-otr, the otr plugin for pidgin. I am not responsible for the pidgin or finch packages, so if you want patches merged there, you need to submit appropriate bug reports against them or ping their respective maintainers... I can only merge patches that apply to pidgin-otr, and I'd rather do so with the approval of upstream maintainers...
