I have done the install in a clean chroot and the installation does not fail.
I cannot reproduce this bug in a clean environment.

In order to analyse this bug I would need more information. Please try to
install samhain again setting up the following variable in your environment:
DEBIAN_SCRIPT_DEBUG.

To get a full log, do the following:

    # script /tmp/samhain.log
    # export DEBIAN_SCRIPT_DEBUG=y
    # dpkg --purge samhain
    # apt-get install samhain
    # exit

Once finished, please send the /tmp/samhain.log file generated to this bug
report.
