FYI, severity was already minor. I agree it's OK to close.

A quick search of the net didn't turn up any discussion of this issue. > > So we can't help you here. > > I respectfully disagree with your argument. My argument was addressed to the apparent claim that there was no evidence the bug was current, since it applied to an old version of gnucash. I pointed out the problem existed in the later versions, although the latest version I can test is lenny. Your response clarifies that you are making a different claim, almost the reverse: The behavior is not "fixed" but it is pervasive. > Even though it may be a real > problem for you, Lenny is no longer supported and there is nothing we can do > about is. What is described as a problem if far beyond security fix so I can > only encourage you to upgrade to current version of Debian. I was neither requesting nor expecting any fix for Lenny. I was requesting the the bug remain open unless there was positve evidence that it had been fixed. But you've come up with a good reason to close the bug, or at least reassign it to KDE, even though it is clearly not fixed. > > Same thing for gnucash - I doubt upstream would spend a minute trying to > address an issue in version that is so old. I wonder if the behavior could possibly be intentional, since it apparently persisted across a complete rewrite of KDE's desktop. It strikes me as undesirable. But I'll need to be on KDE 4 before I file a bug/request against KDE 4. For the record, my search suggested there are 2 "show desktop" like function in KDE 4. One is the plasma show dashboard view, ctl-F12 (http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.0/desktop.php). At least on Ubuntu there is also a way to get a show desktop widget (http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/KDE4).
