Package: linux-kernel-2.6.12-1-amd64-k8
Severity: important

this is a wierd bug, but would seem to be related to amd k7 and k8
optimisations seem to be causing problems in the ide drivers

with the 64bit k8 kernel (full amd64 debian install) when i
try to mount the cdrom i get a kernel oops. with generic it
works as one would expect - mount, unmount, etc

i installed a complete 32bit debian install (on the same system)
and using the k7 kernel had the same results. generic works.

i have since re-re-reinstall and am running debian amd64 again

i suppose a lspci is in order ;)
