Hello Jean,

Attached is a bugreport about iwlist giving bogus output. Can you tell me if
this is a problem with the driver, kernel, 64bitness or perhaps a bug in
wireless-tools itself?

Thanks,

Package: wireless-tools
Version: 30~pre6-1
Severity: important

"iwlist scan" gives complete garbage output, along with a message to
report platform details, so here goes.

In particular the ESSID is always shown as "off/any/hidden" even for
public networks which broadcast SSID, and it says "Encryption key:30"
or something similar even for non-encrypted networks.

The system is a Thinkpad T61, Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel 3945 wireless,
kernel 2.6.26 (x86_64, SMP) with mac80211 wireless stack. (The results
were the same with kernel 2.6.25.)

~$ lspci | grep Wireless
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network
Connection (rev 02)

~$ sudo iwlist wlan0 scan
