Oh, I'm sorry Arnaud, and Mark, I was confused. I had seen no reply on the bug report since christmas, so I thought Mark had not contacted you with the requested information information.


I think we should stop building the kaffe packages statically, and build them dynamically instead. That fixes the ALSA linking problem for me, and makes it possible to turn on sound again. It should also fix such bizarre problems, I hope. I can't tell whether the symbol is in the static kaffe-bin executable, as it has been stripped, but just plain running jar on my x86-debian box works without a symbol lookup problem.

Mark, are you sure all your Kaffe (pthread, jthread) packages are up to the same version, or that gjdoc doesn't have a dependency on a version mix?
