[ Apologies if this is now the wrong place to be adding this comment; Fuse people see http://bugs.debian.org/240941 for context ]
Disclaimer: I'm the primary author of Fuse. As previously noted in this bug report, the only other currently available ZX Spectrum emulator in Debian is spectemu, which is not as feature-rich as xzx. If there is a desire to have an emulator which has vaguely equivalent features in Debian, one could consider Fuse: http://fuse-emulator.sourceforge.net/ which emulates all the "normal" Spectrum models as well as some other clones. There are already unofficial Debian packages available from http://www.youmustbejoking.demon.co.uk/progs.linux.html#debian I believe it would be possible to persuade Darren Salt (who produces the above packages) to become a Debian maintainer for these packages.
