Package: udev Version: 0.113-2 Severity: grave Installed new version this morning (30/7/07). First hint that something was wrong was that my external usb hard-drive would not mount. Now it has become clear that my system will not boot at all and is unusable. It gets to a point where it wants to load the root file system and just chokes and stops working. So it is safe to say that *no* devices whatsoever are being loaded by the new udev. My kernel is an initrd 2.6.21 for powerpc. The system is a 1.2 ghz ibook. If you suggest a fix, I would welcome advice on how to get my system going to install the fix at all.
