Thanks, that is quick.

I am just guessing. Looks like you are running KDE and somehow the
font/GUI for xnec2c does not get loaded.

Can you try installing the gtk-theme-switch packages, Then run
'switch2', click on the large '+' icon and select a theme and font and
click apply. Next, see if xnec2c will run.

You can undo this by removing $HOME/.gtkrc-2.0
