I don't really consider a high risk of totally pranging the xserver of many unsuspecting users is on the whole a helpful thing to upload to the distro. This is looking like it may even be a problem in the xserver itself, but until we know more and have a sure workaround at the very least, this isn't in a state to be distributed more widely than it already is. Sorry. Big transition to a new xserver ABI. People who really need reliable tablet support should probably stick to the older one for a bit longer yet, or get involved with helping things along upstream.
