Hi Bdale Thanks for the information. You are more than welcome to put some work on this issue but I am tired of the licensing issues myself. To classify it as non-free was the decision of debian-leagal. The html documentation is made with latex2html which is in non-free and it can therefore not be put into main. The current version of ASxxxx is 4.11 but version 2 is used in sdcc. Please take a look at the current license: http://shop-pdp.kent.edu/ashtml/asxget.htm "This software is FREEWARE which means it is NOT public domain but fully copyrighted material that is distributed freely without money. Its electronic distribution through BBSs, the Internet, or other such means is encouraged provided no money is requested in return.
It is forbidden to distribute this software should this file, or any of the remaining files, change in any way or be omitted from the archive. If you would like to include this software together with your own work you MUST include it only as the original complete un- modified archive in which I distribute it and not as independent files. If uncertain, simply point others or link to: http://shop-pdp.kent.edu/asxhtm/asxxxx.htm" This does not tell me that the upstream author is willing to change the licence. I have already contacted the sdcc team. Please come up with a sensible division idea for the package. Cheers Gudjon -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
