Hello,

I've just read your report about the problems you've encountered
with sun's java 5 (see
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=446950 to a
reminder). I have a feeling it might be due to something completely
unrelated, such as a problem with the debconf prompting. Could you
please run

debsums -s

on your system (you might need to install debsums for that) ? That
might give us a hint as to what could be broken. If not, could you try
to reinstall sun-java ? If that still fails, try

dpkg-reconfigure debconf

and select another front-end (Readline is the most painful but might
be the safest), and try again.

  Hopefully, we'll sort it out.

  Regards,

      Vincent Fourmond
