GNOME logout. As in "System" -> "Log Out..."

 Can you confirm that downgrading gtk+ (perhaps using
 snapshot.debian.net) fixes the issue?

I already said that in my report. I did. Now I have those versions on forbid, but it seems that the issue is creeping in again.

 Are you using an IM?

Yes, pidgin, and recently kopete. Should I try closing these before logging out?
