I don't know if it's relevant but this past few days apt-get has given me, Reading package lists... Error! E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room E: Error occurred while processing c3270 (NewVersion1) E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/debian.lcs.mit.edu_debian_dists_unstable_non-free_binary-amd64_Packages E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
... and similar. I've tried removing and redownloading the stuff in /var/lib/apt/lists/ and setting the absurdly high, APT::Cache-Limit "268435456"; and suchlike and nothing helps. My sources.list currently looks like, deb http://debian.lcs.mit.edu/debian etch main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main contrib non-free #deb http://www.backports.org/debian etch-backports main contrib non-free deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org etch main deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org unstable main deb http://debian.lcs.mit.edu/debian unstable main contrib non-free deb-src http://debian.lcs.mit.edu/debian etch main contrib non-free #deb http://snapshots.ekiga.net/snapshots/debian/ ./ I have apt 0.7.14 running on x86_64.
