Firstly a bit of background. Pacemaker contains a lot of code that used to be part of heartbeat. A split was made. Code was moved into different development trees, and several versions of pacemaker have been released. However a new version of heartbeat is yet to be released. Thus the heartbeat 2.1.3 package, which is based on the latest release, contains files which are also contained in pacemaker. This also means that the heartbeat 2.1.3 does not make use of pacemaker. It is envisaged that when the next relese of heartbeat comes along the code that is now in pacemaker will have been removed. And, more imporantly, heartbaet will require pacemaker.
