Package: ruby1.8 Version: 1.8.7.22-2 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss
I've written a ruby program using Gtk that crashes the Ruby VM every time I run it. If the ruby VM crashes when you have unsaved data you will lose data ==> this is a dataloss bug (even if I didn't lose any data here) ==> severity grave according to http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer.html#severities. On stderr, the following error message is printed when the program crashes: " ./animation.rb:107: [BUG] object allocation during garbage collection phase ruby 1.8.7 (2008-06-20 patchlevel 22) [i486-linux] " Here's a stack trace from the crash: #0 0xb7f1f424 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0xb7e1ffd3 in __waitpid_nocancel () from /lib/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 #2 0xb7b6cae3 in IA__g_spawn_sync (working_directory=0x0, argv=0x8be3918, envp=0x0, flags=<value optimized out>, child_setup=0, user_data=0x0, standard_output=0x0, standard_error=0x0, exit_status=0x0, error=0xbfd35108) at /tmp/buildd/glib2.0-2.16.4/glib/gspawn.c:374 #3 0xb7b6cdec in IA__g_spawn_command_line_sync ( command_line=0x8be7c10 "bug-buddy --appname=\"animation.rb\" --pid=5221", standard_output=0x0, standard_error=0x0, exit_status=0x0, error=0xbfd35108) at /tmp/buildd/glib2.0-2.16.4/glib/gspawn.c:682 #4 0xb6cd9198 in ??
