I'm completely unfamiliar with ggz. If a patch is available to backport
the libdb detection, I'm willing to test it and make that upload if it
works.

Which revisions, which files, which changes?

(Trac can usually be persuaded to provide a single URL that shows the
diff between relevant revisions. If you can identify the correct diffs,
I'll do the rest - but the diff does need to be *solely* for the M4
changes to support libdb detection.)
