I think you should not do anything at all (right now). If my understanding and information is correct, the GTK+ in experimental should have gotten a SONAME bump, but didn't for convenience sake (not having to rebuild everything on top of it to be able to test it). If this is done intentionally, it will certainly be fixed before GTK+ 2.14 is uploaded to unstable (after Lenny obviously). Then every reverse dependency will be rebuilt and you'll have a problem *then* if you don't use the patch or uploads a newer upstream version. This is in the future though. If you want to be prepared for the future, you could provide a patched version targeted at experimental right now to make sure the patch works. This will not prevent people from installing your lenny/sid package together with the experimental GTK+ though and still end up with breakage. But that's what you get for installing experimental stuff! My hope with tagging this experimental was to get it off the Lenny RC bug radar. If that doesn't work, maybe you could downgrade it to "important" or even just close it. The GNOME packaging team, and Josselin "Np237" Mouette in particular, could probably explain all this alot better then me. -- Regards, Andreas Henriksson -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
