 If you could get a backtrace from gdb that would be helpful, yes. For
me (on powerpc) it doesn't segfault - though it doesn't work neither:

 I'm not completely sure wether to suggest a rebuild because I'm not
sure if this should be related to the update. If you want to give a
local rebuild a try you have my blessing - I'll try myself.
