it doesn't solve problem for me; these are the steps:
i move ~/.config in ~/.config.old
i run eric;
i try to configure it; i receive an error (maybe when i click
"style") infact an error windows opens but i can't read it because eric
suddenly crashes;
i try to re-run eric but it doesn't load; in console i receive
this error:

moreover, eric (from debian repository and directly from site) works
greatly for me some days ago (i can't be more precise, but i think
before 17 apr).
