Package: mawk Version: 1.3.3-14 Severity: serious Justification: mawk's sources do not agree with Debian's add-on copyright.
Justification: mawk's sources have several comments stating explicitly that it is distributable in GPLv2, e.g., Mawk is distributed without warranty under the terms of the GNU General Public License, version 2, 1991. The Debian changelog has no indication that Mike Brennan changed the license. Debian's copyright notice has added /usr/share/doc/mawk/copyright which says This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2, or (at your option) any later version. (The Debian changelog does not indicate at what point the license terms were changed). -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages mawk depends on: ii libc6 2.9-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries mawk recommends no packages. mawk suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
