Package: migrationtools
Version: 47-6
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hello,
I've installed slapd.
I configured it for company.com
I've installed migrationtools.

Then changed the migration_common.ph and changed default domain to
mycompany.com.
When running migration I get the follwoing.

adding new entry "cn=mailer0deamon,ou=Aliases,dc=mycompany,dc=com"
ldap_add: Invalid syntax(21)
additional info: objectClasss: Value #0 invalid per syntax

Any idea how to fix this.
How can I delete what was entered and retry.

Thanks,
Lucas

If script fails, it probably left a temporary file below /tmp with the
ldif data it attempted to inject into ldap.

Try injecting that data by other means than through migrationtools,
possibly in smaller chunks.

This looks like not a bug in migrationtools but that you try to inject
objects that your slapd does not support (hint: you need to include
appropriate schema files if being strict as is currently the default for
slapd in Debian). See also the limitations already documented in
/usr/share/doc/migrationtools/README.Debian(.gz)

Anyway in certainly does not render the package useless for everyone
(beware that bug severities are related to *all* users, not just your
specific use case).

I appreciate your filing bugreports (please to not let this concrete
response discourage you from doing so in the future!), but I choose to
close this as a non-bug. If you are able to isolate parts of ldif data
that is rejected even with all standard schema files included, then
please do reopen and provide such additional info.

Maybe try this:

   dpkg-reconfigure slapd

As this is outsie the scope of migrationtools, please do not discuss
here if it fails to work - instead consult debian-user or some other
user forum.

Kind regards, and thanks for your interest in migrationtools,

  - Jonas
