Could you change in /usr/share/amsn/protocol.tcl the line number 6930 from:
if { [::config::getKey protocol] == 18 } {
set ver "MSNP18"
to:
if { [::config::getKey protocol] == 16 } {
set ver "MSNP16
Tell me if this fix the problem please. I am sorry for all this mess.
