I think the problem can be solved just changing the pkg_modules line
in the file "configure.in". Update the version for gtkdatabox >=
0.9.1.0 and I think it will be ok.

And I guess the problem comes from: libgtkdatabox doesn't follow
libtool version numbering system. I hope they will fix this, as I've
already given some tips, so that their package doesn't break other
ones, with minor changes that should not affect the library interface
at all.
