You're right; I'll see about Guile 1.6 shortly, but note that most of the effort has been focused on Guile 1.8, and if it weren't for an unfortunate upstream ABI change with respect to threads (and a later 2.0 release than expected), 1.6 would have been removed from the archive long ago.
