this is a copy of bug nr. 489701 I had the same problem with the RXTX library. I send here the same solution as I sent to the older bug because I didn't got any response.

So I tried to apply the patch from the stable version to the new 2.2pre2 and it worked well. some stuff applied not well but I was able to compile and install the new version without errors. Now the Sump Logic Analyzer WORKS! No crashes anymore.
