OK.
So, first, I tried installing it via dpkg but it had dependencies on an
older apt (actually, libapt-pkg-something, provided by apt). So I
installed it too, so that I have my "old" setup. But it was not such a
good idea : aptitude now couldn't load some shared libraries (by
strace'ing it, it first loaded the good ("old" apt) one, but then tried
the new one ... that was no more here) and won't run at all.
Furthermore, I realized that when this bug happened, I already had the
newer apt. So I decided to go "back" by upgrading my system with
apt-get. I got back all the newer version (apt 0.7.25.3 and aptitude
0.6.1.5), and the correct /usr/bin/aptitude alternative with it !
Still, I want to know why the problem happened, so I try to compile the
"old" aptitude as you advised me Sven, but then I stumble upon #560517
which is only solved in a 0.6.something aptitude release. I could try to
find and backport the patch, but I must admit I don't feel it so
well ...

Oh, and one more thing : just got back to this machine (it's not my main
one) after writing the first part of this email, and realized that
aptitude has actually not been updated and still fails loading a shared
library ... did I dream of it ?! So I apt-get -f install again, this
time aptitude is upgraded correctly, even if updates-alternatives tells
me it "forced" the link ... And then everything is _really_ fine. This
but drives me crazy and the behavior is so undeterministic I really
wonder if there isn't a problem with the FS.

So, if you have an idea to test this 0.4.11.11-1+b2 I'd be happy, but
for now I don't know what to think about it. Thanks for the effort,
though.
