My experience is exactly the same tho the output is different. The error
messages are the same but of course I included the original output my install
gave me. (esp since the mandriva-one is about 0.4.3)
When Vegastrike starts, it opens with a simple graphic of a ship and a message
"error: no rooms found". The usual graphics for the base interiors are missing;
there's just a single screen providing access to Ships, Upgrades, Cargo, etc.
Dynamic aspects like Missions and News are blank. The ship can be launched and
can navigate to other locations, but they are also missing the usual interior
graphics. No other ships are generated for ship-to-ship interaction. You're
bascially alone in the universe.
Starting from the command line, I get the following:

I can reproduce it on two computers, and I tried removing ~/.vegastrike-0.4.x
but it didn't help.
Could this be because vegastrike is 0.5svn and vegasrike-data is 0.4.3?
