Thos packages look to solve the issue, both with python 2.5 and python 2.6:

ser...@frink:~/path/to/repo$ python2.5 /usr/bin/hg pull
pulling from http://wikier:*...@hg.wikier.org/foo
searching for changes
no changes found
ser...@frink:~/path/to/repo$ python2.6 /usr/bin/hg pull
pulling from http://wikier:*...@hg.wikier.org/foo
searching for changes
no changes found

So we can say that the last upstream 'stable' branch fixes the
problem. Do you have details about the diff? I'm just curious.
