This is a similar bug report to LP: #558443

When one upgrades a lenny system with python2.4 and twisted to squeeze,
and removes python2.4, the dropin.cache file remains in site-packages.
(Full log of this attached)

Currently this is being partially worked around in 9.0.0-0 by setting
DH_PYCENTRAL=include-links, so that the dropin.cache files for all
supported python versions at build time are owned by the package.
This doesn't take into account previously supported versions.

As another twisted.plugin-using-package maintainer, can I suggest the
following approach?:

1. Why not use a directory trigger on
    /usr/share/pyshared/twisted/plugins instead of "twisted-plugins-cache".
Then all packages installing Twisted plugins can stop having to
    provide anything special in postinst.

why would this help? if you look at python-twisted-conch, there is nothing hardcoded in the postinst.
