Tried that - it didn't seem to make any difference.  I do have a large
collection of photos (2.6G) but I've tried pointing the old f-spot at
smaller and smaller subsets of it without success - it always crashed on
the first photo it attempted.

Thank you for your assistance - I'll now try to learn how to use the
program.
